washing and missing socks lol

why is it when men put there washing in the washing machine when you take out your washing you always have a sock missing lol

Socks hide inside duvet covers, but there is a certain way of finding them. Pull a shirt out of the washing machine very carefully, and as sure as eggs is eggs a sock will follow and land in the cat's bowl.

errrmmm, hey guys, i found a solution to this a few years ago, in the pound shop they were selling a twin pack of white net laundry bags with a zip up top, now, I put all socks in the bag before washing them, by doing this religiously I have now worked out that it is not the washing machine that loses the socks, the matching socks never actually get put in the wash, they are under the bed, screwed up insode discarded clothing, shoved in the bedroom wardrobes etc, it is now a scientifically proven fact in my house, washing machines do not eat socks, the socks never made it to the washing machine, (I have submitted a paper to the Forensic Monthly) lol

Lol whiffey! That very thing happened today - a sock in the cat's bowl!! Also grinned at yours Dot - about the matching socks never making it to the washer!!! Both very true!

Dotty - growing up I remember Mum scolding us kids about said situations you mentioned. It's so good to know most families are similar. lol

Dot is correct. When gathering the washing of 3 blokes in my house I would collect what I saw or what they deemed to give me. When socks came out, on many occasions an odd number, I just hung em up without fretting. When dry I would ball them into pairs and return them. Odd ones got chucked in a little basket at the top of the cupboard.
Now and then I would see if I could make pairs from them. Any odd cotton sports socks I would save, slip on my hand and use as a cleaning cloth/duster. All other odd socks, I chucked.

Socks are cheap. Cheaper than tights. Chuck the oddies and move on.

Oh so true dot. thought I'd checked everywhere in son's bedroom today before the wash but it was a forlorn hope, I have odd ones again !!! They're a menace.

This has reached an INTERNATIONAL Level. I am glad to see it is not just my house. I think all washing machine companies must be owned the sock company.
