Is it time to stop TV programmes like this if it leads to actions such as carried out by this 'gentleman'?

I abhor such programmes and people who watch believing the participants are being helped are frankly deluded.

It is exploitation of the vulnerable and / or unthinking members of society for profit.

However, I don't believe you can blame the tv show for the fact that she had an affair and lied to her husband for years, or his reaction. He would probably have done that however he found out.

Cheap and nasty tv.
I agree with Ethel. It's what the yanks call "nuts and *****" TV. It's little more than bear baiting for people. How the victims can let this ritual humiliation occur is beyond me. They must want their 15mins so desperately that they let people like Kyle do this to them or they are so low in IQ that they do not know what's happenning to them, very disturbing.
sorry 4GS, to answer the question, yes I think the authorities should act in the same way they act to prevent cruelty to animals.
Every single person that appears on this show, without exception, is a thick scummy pikey.

As most of them are little more than animals I don't really have a problem with it. We visist the zoo to see other species if we want, and we can also watch this loathsome show if we want to see our burgeoning underclass in action.

What sort of thought process would go through the mind of a 'Wayne' or a 'Tiffany' when asked the question "do you want to go on Jeremy Kyle?" Duh, yer OK, nuttin can go wrong.

They are all disgusting scum and deserve all they get, and (hopefully) get all that they deserve.

Scum.

It is probably only a few short years ago that this odious scumbag was probably attacking firemen on a call.
Think this judge sums it up pretty well!

Television is exploitative. It is also often very cruel.

There is no difference between the Kyle Show and say 'Pop Idol' where we are encouraged to laugh at the tuneless no-hoper having their deluded dreams shattered
or
The lady failing over dancing and showing her knickers on 'You've been framed'.

The victims are willing, and they provide themselves (for whatever reason) for our entertainment

People calling for the 'Kyle Show' to be taken off because they don't like it are being elitist and supercilious.

Why shouldn't dimwits and chavs have television made for and about them. If you don't want to watch it, turn it over.

If this show didn't exist, where would McCain's advertise their ingenious Micro Chips?
Jeremy Kyle is a total "James Blunt". He thinks he knows better than anyone else.

And I have to agree with Flip Flop. If you dont tick the "I am a chav" or "I am a Pikey" box of the Jeremy Kyle Show application form, you aint getting on the show

The only people that watch this sh1t are either mums on maternity leave (cant blame em), people on annual leave, or jobless lazy benefit scrounging folk.

get that blone w4nker of the box. Hes a tool!
Flipflop, animals aren't daft enough to go on tv and do any of the things that these people do.
They are just stupid poeple who want their 15 minutes of fame (thanks Andy Warhol for that).
My son who is 16 watches it now and again and he just finds it very very worrying that some people would actually do this not just to themselves but their familys as well.
I had the misfortune of knowing someone locally who bragged that him and his wife went on one of these shows. He ended up a laughing stock and he and his wife are now devorced.
The one I find disturbing at the moment, but I haven't watched simply because It's so wrong, is Jerry Springers latest outing. Win Money for telling secrets it would appear.
How wrong is that. Yet people still go for it and still watch it.
And from what I've seen they arn't all chavs either.
I can only think that these people are paid to go on the show .
Surely , even 15 mins of fame wouldn't tempt them , otherwise .

Anyway , the stories are all fabricated , aren't they ?

I know two people who've gone on shows like this. It's embarrassing & humiliating, but millions watch this stuff, which just goes to show the sort of mentality they have.
