How does one get rid of these horrible tickets which are stuck onto the drivers side windows if one has parked illegally.....they are hellish things to shift and no amount of scraping gets rid of the glue.
I'm sure they use some form of super glue.....I won't be able to see out of my car soon and then I'll be accused of reckless driving and fined, pursued by the media, possibly jailed, probably horribly abused in prison, my life may never be the same again....all because of a sticky label.
Lighter fluid (the stuff used to fill up Zippos etc) is good at shifting difficult sticky residues.
I'm not sure how good it would be at removing parking tickets, but you could give it a try....just don't be smoking a fag while your at it!
Grab yourself a Betterware dealer - a tiny bottle of 'Sticky Stuff Remover' removes residue left by glue, tar, oil and chewing gum - and lasts forever.
I recon it would be poetic justice if you sent the council an invoice for the cost of the cleaner and the labour involved.
Think about it...Fine = 40
Cleaning damage caused by Council employee to illegally parked Vehicle =
Labour @ 20 per hour x2 =40
Materials @10
Therefore dear council...you owe me 10.
To my knowledge that would even be legal!!!!! unless anyone can prove me wrong! And I JUST LIKE IT.
Stevieboy - I think the stickers used are not from the council but private landowners. I use the same stickers on my land and the whole idea is that they are supposed to be difficult to remove,as a deterence to not park there again. Next time it could be a clamping.
Just ask the person to remove it themselves with a little hot water. If they refuse, call the police. They can 'just' get away with leaving a note under your wiper, gluing something on is vandalism of your property, and a criminal offence.
