Becoming an extra

How exactly do you become an extra in a film or TV programme? Is there a website where you can apply just like you can get free tickets to be in audiences at www.applausestore.com (thought I would throw that in cos its so cool)

Go to your local newsagent and order a copy of 'The Stage'.  It is filled with TV, theatre and film jobs.

there are all kinds of different 'extra' sites on the web. go on a search engine and register. i use the web instead of The Stage when casting. i cant remeber any off the top of my head coz i just use search engines and click on what ever one sounds like a promise. where are you based - nothing too specific, ie no place names, the AB wont let it thru. what do you do - whats your style?

join a extras agency like 20/20, Uglies, Casting Collective. Theres pleanty around. ONE TIP: Do NOT use a company that asks you for money up front.
