Whatever anyone's views are of Kate Rusby's music, it is defamatory to refer to her as a 'dyke' when she is undoubtedly both very feminine and heterosexual. The posting of defamatory comments is against Site Rules.
I loved KR when I first stumbled across her on t' radio and on Jools Holland.
After a few albums I have to say that she hasn't really progressed and has become more samey and miserable. It's a shame because she obviously has potential.
She's from Barnsley and has a loverly accent. Is dyke-wannabe an insult? Anyway, thought she was married to John McCusker, the fiddler.
Quasi-Gaelic accent ? Eh, sounds like proper Yorkshire accent to me - just listen to the way she pronounces *duck* or *custard*..... I think she's brilliant btw !
Dear Abdulmajid,
My copy of the Oxford English Dictionary does not include the word 'Wannabe'. I do know it is a slang word for someone who is aspiring to be a star. Kate Rusby has been selling large numbers of CD's for over 10 years so I would say she is already a star on the English folk scene. It is a pity you have to resort to insulting me just because I have disagreed with your post. I think you should learn some manners and grow up.
