Desktop is massive!

Everything on my desktop has gone extra large and I don't know how to get it back to normal. I can't see the toolbar or the icons at the bottom of the screen. I have tried
Right Click
Properties
Appearance
Normal but it remains the same. I have also tried going into Appearance/Effects and making sure that the Large Icon is not ticked.
Anyone got any ideas please?

Try right click - Settings then check the screen resolution it may have been set to 800 X 600 which would give the large screen effect.

Try altering resolution till you get the size you had.

Thanks Pauln90. I have tried what you suggested and it has made the icons etc smaller however I still cant see my toolbar along the bottom. Also, the icons are all a bit squashed up into the top left corner instead of down the left hand side of the desktop.
Any more ideas?

Try using the monitor control buttons and shrink the screen until the toolbar is visible.

Have any children been using it and playing with the buttons ??

there may be a setting on the monitor that takes it back to factory settings.If so use this then customise it to your needs

Thanks again pauln90. I don't know what the problem was and I just couldn't get anything to work . . . but then it dawned on me to try the universal problem-solver . . . turn it off and back on again!!
Worked as treat!
