looking at the bigger picture, how free are we all in life?
if you work for payment then you work to live, if you dont work for payment then you can be considered to be free, though this right is usually inherited in the correct terms. though the issues of inheritance are fraught with implications.
This is pretty much what I do. Gave up work when I had the twins 6 years ago and now I have total responsibility for the housework and a meal prepared for the family when my husband comes home from work.
I'm not given an allowance as such. The money is in a joint account and I take what I need.
I don't consider myself a kept woman or feel like prostitute or dependent on my husband. I work hard at keeping a good home and being there for the girls and if I was not around to take care of these things my husband wouldn't be able to do the hours he does. As for boredom, i can go out any time I feel like it and you can easily fill a full day tidying cooking and baking.
Up until a couple of decades ago this was the norm. I'm sure some of you will think my life sounds boring and pathetic and I admit it wouldn't suit everybody but I'm happy, my husband's happy and my girls are happy and secure so we're sticking to what suits us.
