Absolutely great.  At long last I can go down the pub and enjoy myself without coming home reaking of smoke and coughing all night.  I think it will attract a lot more people into pubs. 

 

Smokers can always go and have a quick fag out in the pub garden, after all I often have to stand outside when the smoke gets too much!

Even though I'm a non-smoker I find the ban absolutely scary.  It already happened in parts of Minneapolis. Instead of improving the air circulation in buildings they just got rid of the people. Smokers have become the new group to discriminate.  Being who smokes inside this issue becomes classist & facist.  Who are they going to get next? Fat people?

I think its a good thing, less money will be drained from NHS on smoke related cancers and those working in bars will not have to inhale second hand smoke.  I hate coming out of restaraunts and reaking of smoke, it should definately be banned in places serving food.

As an exsmoker - I find this ban disgusting - no freedom of choice anymore.

 

And with regard the post on NHS services - the NHS would collapse without the tax from cigarettes!

If you think about it, it wasn't that long ago since smoking was allowed in cinemas and on public transport. That now seems laughable. I'm sure that in many years to come, smoking in all public places will be banned and we will look back at this time and laugh that it was allowed now.
