Good morning everyone. I am here on the Lincolnshire coast and the weather is, I think the correct technical term is, a bit blustery. I have just spoken to my son who is in Chelmsford and his short and to the point grammar school educated assessment of conditions there is crap!! I guess everyone on here will have a differing experience of the expected storm (we should work for Reuters!) so good luck everybody. D :0)

that's a good question Steff. My (nitpicking?) understanding is that these are not storms at all. A storm to me means thunder and lightning with or without winds and/or rain. I haven't heard of any T & L but there are floods so perhaps we should rate it as The Great Blow Dry or even The Great Wet Gales. I don't think it has earned a very yet - but I don't think it's finished yet!

Hi, Seekerz: from an expat to the home country - where abouts are you? I was a Sinnycider, lately from the bush until I came here in 1955. I gather from my sister - in Sinny - that you've had some rain, but was it where it was needed, like most of the country?

We've had rain here in the north west midlands (north Cheshire), not much wind and at the moment the sun is shining.

I've not "seen" you in the "other place" recently.

Surely, it should be called The Great Fuss?

A couple of observations:

* It's March and it's windy .... comme d'habitude.
* The prevailing wind's from the west, so it's a bit wet ... no change there then.

So yesterday I went out wearing a water- and wind-proof
coat, waterproof shoes etc and managed to conduct my business with no difficulty. Admittedly, I don't have to walk on a harbour wall, so I'm not at huge risk....

Mind you, I slept through last week's (month's?) earthquake, so what do I know, anyway?

a few good points there BigMac. I sometimes wonder if the forecasters over-egg the custard for fear of "doing a Fish" as per '87, then it becomes a Much Ado About Nothing!! Still, we shall see! :0)

Hi burnham I wouldn't mind being a Sinnycider at the moment, at least they're getting rain - no rephrase that, Qld is getting floods, but probably 200% humidity with it - Gark !!
I'm in poor old South Oz, where rain has forgotten how to fall and the weather will remain at 38 - 39deg for the next week or so - we have broken all records, not that we wanted to, and Easter will definitely be hot this year. Is it me or has the world gone nutz !!

btw - in which other place have you not 'seen' me lately - I am confoozed but curious ??

Dusty glad it's all winding down for you, whatever it is/was - it gets confusing when everything has to be classified and it isn't if it doesn't have it - omg that's deep !!
