Why would it be impossible to construct a human from all working parts, a la Frankenstein? What is the thing needed to re-start and sustain life?

Also, would you really want someone like that hanging around you, turning up for parties and stuff?

There was a tv programme a few years ago about a man who lost the lower part of his left arm. The tv prog followed his attempts to have a donor arm attached. He had it done but the result was grotesque and the nerve endings didn't work properly so he couldn't feel the arm. He eventually had it removed and chose an electro- mechanical arm instead.
This is the story of a more recent transplant. Successful transplants are still very rare as there are so many different variables. The very first transplant of this sort took place in 1998 in France.

I'm not sure about being constructed from other human parts, but the other morning I woke up to find that I'd turned into Einstein's monster. It was quite scary actually.
I woke up and caught myself in the mirror and gave myself the fright of my life! I looked like a cross between Einstein and Beetlejuice. Not a good look.

If we could discover the thing that gives true life: not just electrical impulses and the like... well... think of the consequences.
Im reading a book called Lucifer by Michael Cordy at the moment. It follows a scientist who discovers how to talk to souls after death and thus ask about the afterlife.
Now think what would happen if we could resurrect bits of people as one entity. The religious and scientific consequences and investigations and discoveries would be phenomenal.
Interesting question
