What brand and model is you DVD player? Cpc stock quite a few replacement remotes for major brand players, but they're mostly not on the web catalogue and you have to look through the paper one.
Alternatively there's a guy in Leeds market with a dustbin full or remote controls at ~50p a shot.
I have a "one for all" remote that cost around �30 2 yeaers ago (6 in 1). I have run my Sony DVD and changed last year to a Onkyo DVD player - the Sony was easy to set up and worked fine. When I changed to the Onkyo, I rang up the One For All freephone number and they gave me a number to install and programmed my remote over the telephone.
Would say that they are more expensive but work brilliantly!
