Pregnant Man

Have you seen the news about the man who is pregnant here in the States?
Thomas was born "Tracey". Tracey was briefly a lesbian, but became a transgender male in his twenties. He took testosterone and had breasts removed. The vagina and internal organs were kept intact. Thomas marries Nancy (who has had a hysterectomy) and Thomas has insemination and boom.....they are now 6 months pregnant.

While I understand that this is unusual, and that since Thomas is legally a male, a "man" is having a baby, but the doctors says this is like any other pregnancy biologically, the media is going nuts over this. Somehow i suspect that they are not the first couple where a transgendered male has carried and delivered.

Any thoughts???

Hi ET -yip been following this,It is a bit unique as I personally find that transgenders are peeps who are in the wrong body,I salute him -what a bloody coup for him and Oprah.Best of luck cos at the end of the day -he is giving life to another human being and that to me is fantastic!!!!!!!

I am doing well. And you??

I recently went to diversity training for my school. I thought it was going to be about race, religon and homsexualty, etc,
but the whole thing was about Gay,Lesbian, bi-sexual, and Trans-gender isuues. (GLBT) It really gave me a new understanding for the issues faced. The training was run by a transgendered male and it was a bit 'different' at first, but he answered all our questions and kept his sense of humor about our ignorance and nosiness.

I guess Thomas was right to say that he has the right to his own biological child. I never thought about it that way.
