80s to 90s TV programme

Does anyone remember an American programme in the 80s ish, it was a beauty and the beast kinda story line and the beast lived in the sewers under the city? I think the beauty was like a journalist or something and they solved crimes in new york I believe?? What was it called and is it on ANYWHERE anymore??

I can't find any TV channels that are currently showing this programme. You could always buy the DVD if you are a big fan of the TV series.

It was strange as Catherine was killed towards the end of the series. Vincent, (The Beast) was devastated and avenged her murder, if I remember correctly.

The TV channel "Zone Romantica" (I think it's on Sky only) are currently showing "B&B" (at this very moment, in fact) or all 3 seasons are on Region 1 DVD.
