I have bought a house, and there is a tree in the back garden (a fairly small tree this is - probably about 10ft at it's highest point), and when we viewed the house in october the tree was bare...and we now live in the house and it is still bare! the neighbours reckon it is/was a cherry. Do you think it is dead?! There's no signs of it coming to life, no buds or anything! Thanks for your help!

if it is a cherry then it should have flowered by now. The best way to check is scrape back a small area of bark. If it is green underneath then the tree is still alive.
