If the rubber bulb used for priming (bleeding ) a diesel engine fuel system has a none return valve in it,
The reason i ask is that on mine, rover 620 it will not pump and go sollid, as some people suggest that it should,
Thanks, pete,

It does give that impression, but there is no sign of a leak anywhere, the car starts after about 10 seconds of cranking, and once started gives no further trouble all day, then the problem starts next morning, as if fuel had run back from the pump, I have changed heater plugs, checked relay,
It's driving me crazy now, as the biggest problem is that you have to wait until the next day to find out if anything you have done has worked.

The filter has been changed, but after the prob started, it is weird indeed the filter is a cannister type and the only posible leaks could be at the pipe in and out connections,so, tommorow I shall start replacing fuel pipe from filter onwards, and i will use clear pipe so i can keep an eye on things, This is the reason i asked if there was a non-return valve in the bulb as if there was , this could faulty, if there isn't ,then I can see no way that the bulb would go hard, If my reasoning makes any sense to you.
