Xmas Gift...

I need to buy a christmas present for a girl who's very special to me (not girlfriend, so no sexy underwear). Can anybody make any suggestions what I should get her? Any help whatsoever, I'm really poo at this.

What about one of those "pampering day" packs?  You can get them in the larger WH Smith branches.  Or less expensive, a voucher for an individual treatment.  Or a year's subscription to a glossy mag she likes.

Mmm...yeah good ideas..but I forgot to mention that she's one of those girls who has everything, or can get anything...coz she's kinda rich. So I want something that she'll think aw how thoughtful instead of oh i could have got that myself...not that she would do that but yknow what I mean.

What about a piece of jewlry. Something non-specific like a jacket pin is nice. I bought a friend of mine a pin with two cats on it, with their tails entwined, which i think said that we were close, but did not infer anything else. Something like that is unusual, not something your friend would buy for herself.

I remember years ago getting all sorts of persents including a diamond bracelet but the one thing that stood out was that a friend of mine, who was quite skint, found a picture of my son and had it enlarged and put into a beautiful frame as my gift.  It was probably the least expensive present I received but the most personal and thoughtful - it made me cry.  If you actually think about her and what she likes it will mean more to her than anything anyone else can come up with!

If you are a bloke who is "handy" have you thought of giving her a "cheque book" of things you promise to do for her - I don't know her but if it was me I would love a pack of promises such as: will drive you to such a place; will help you assemble that pack from Ikea (maybe if she is rich she does not buy Ikea but you get the idea); will hang that shelf...  Is she into music?  What about tickets for the ballet?

One option is to get something artistic (that you like and think she will like) but won't last for ever.

Examples are: an exotic bottle of wine or deliquacy item of food, flowers, scented candle, etc.

The fact that the gift won't last for ever allows you to take risks.

this year, I have adopted a frog at London Zoo for a year for one of my friends. You can find out how to do it on thier website

Get all the photo's you can of her throughout her life and make like a little story book with captions under the photos and then finish off with a photo of you and her and let her know how much she means to you at the end.  My friend did this for my birthday once and I loved it, also my friends dad did one for her and it was really funny and really sweet. This would only work if you know her well and you've known her for a while.
