recently i've just found out that one of my best guy friends likes me as more than as friend. But i have known him for a very long time but i have only ever seen him as a friend and probably always will. I dont think he knows that i know he likes me but i was wondering if i should tell him that i know and would only like to stay friends. My only worry is that our friendship won't be the same.

I would agree - don;t bring it up, but be prepared if he looks like making a move.
It can be difficult to salvage the situation, and the friendship, but it can be done. If he makes his feelins known, tell him how flattered you are, but don;t lay it on too heavy about not feeling the same way - he will get the message from your body language and lack of response.
Although - as advised, someone may be misreading the signals, or the conversation. I have had a lot of seriously close platonic girlfriends, and seriously fancied all of them, and even been in love with some, but never made any move because my philosophy is, if a woman wants to move things on, she will let you know. If she doesn;t let you know, save your friendship from damage, don;t go there.
Maybe somone could point that out to your friend, and save trouble later on.
Good luck.
