I would like some advice please.

I use plastic bags as my bin bags for a few reasons. Firstly, as I live on my own so I don't create a lot of waste. Secondly, a bin bag can be put in the outside bin before it starts to stink. Thirdly, I don't need to buy bin bags. Forthly, I recycle nearly everything including fruit and veg waste which goes in the composter. My outside bin normally has only 2-3 bags in it when the refuse collectors empty it.

Does anyone else do this? Should I be buying bin bags due to what may/will be happening to the plastic shopping bag?

Lol Weeal. They look like large orange/satsuma/lemon bags!

I always forget to take bags with me when I go shopping. I just don't think about it when I'm rushing out the door. Lol
thing is tho you'd have to carry all the re-usable bags around the whole store whilst doing your shopping, bit awkward innit, especially with a small handbag - what you supposed to do with them?
I absolutely agree with you. I can't remember the last time I put a black bag out for collection. I recycle virtually everything, so all that goes to landfill is old tea bags, tissues, food scraps, used chewing gum. These I put in a biodegradable Co-op carrier bag and dispose of in a convenient waste bin on my bike ride to work.

Isn't rubbish fascinating !!

(I think we are both Croydon-ish ?)

Well Weeal, we need a seperate bag to put all the other bags in! lol

We are definitely Croydonians Whiff. Which Co-op do you go to? I don't have a Co-op near me. I shop in Tesco's in Brigstock Road. Its the nearest supermarket to my oher than Sainsbury's in Streatham Common (which is too pricey).
What is a 'convenient waste bin' whiffey? If you use a public litter bin for your household waste you could be fined you know...
rabbity, I am shaking with fear ! Just a small carrier bag on my handlebars which I lob into a Tramlink bin, sod all in it apart from tea bags, tissues and chewing gum.

tigger I shop at Co-op Rosehill, because I work nearby. I always look out for B00, but I rather think she is oop North. I go to Tesco Thornton Heath occasionally for their good ethnic (i.e. chilli sauces) selection, and also to spend an hour or so on the platform at the station watching the trains.

Isn't life fascinating lol !!

God knows what a tramlink bin is but I'm worried they could trace you whiffey by the dna on those tissues and gum !!!!

Seriously, councils have staff who track down those who dump their rubbish where they shouldn't. And I know as well (cos I worked for a council) how many people used to dump bags containing mail with their address on!

Duh!

I've probably seen you in the ethnic aisle Whiffs. Lol

Lol noknowledge. I guess we are just ordinary Joe Bloggers. I'd rather live an ordinary life than a jetset one. I left the jetset in my 20's and early 30's :-)
I'd like to give the jetset a try.

The question is what are you going to do with it noknowledge?
I use my cloth bag all the time, and as i have said before alot of the shop staff are conditioned to ask to you want a bag for your purchase, i get in first and say dont bother with a bag have have my own reuseable bag makes the rest of the queue feel quilty and feel so saint like!, had to laugh today there was a old lady in front of me in the pound shop she had a cloth shopping bag and still she took a carrier for her small purchase whats the point!! was just thinking what are we to use for a pedal bins the large ones, betcha there are expensive bio degradable bin liners out there!!! or have any abers got other suggestions?
Tiggerblue, I do the same as you, use my used plastic shopping bags for the bins and they work perfect.
