help retrieving data please :0)

Hi, I have a couple of camcorder minidiscs that won't playback on my camcorder due to a 'disc error' message and I was wondering if anyone knows how to retrieve the data? I've asked this before and was kindly told I might be able to get it back via my pc and 'dvd shrink and decryptor' freeware if I had a dvdrom. I've now got a dvd rom but my disc will not play on my comp (I use windows media player 9) so should I still get the shrink/decrypter ware and what do I do with it? Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!!

DVD Shrink is freeware so won't cost you anything to use. Download it here.
