does anyone know where i can find term dates for 2008/2009 for america please.we are looking to go to orlando in february 2009 and don't really want to go when it is american half term as parks will be packed.
if anyone can help thankyou in advance.

I think they vary from state to state, or even area to area.

It does vary from state to state. I've tried avoiding holidays in the past. You best bet would be to identify a holiday period where you know all schools will be off (like Easter for example) and then book to go a week or two after. We've always found this time to be quiet and very hot.

You need to think about Presidents day (Washingtons birthday) as well.

Presidents day falls on the third Monday in February and a lot of people go to Orlando for the weekend.

I went to Orlando in February about 5 years ago and generally it was quiet except for Presidents weekend.

For the Presidents weekend we found the parks very crowded, but as we were there for two weeks it was not a big problem.

I have to say February is a great time to go as the parks are quiet and the weather is generally very good (you do not face the heat and humid weather in like in July & August)

Holidays vary by state - you also need to avoid Spring Break which seems to run anytime from Feb to April.

I went to Orlando in Feb this year on the 21st and it was fairly busy. Much busier than it had been on previous visits in May and Oct. The staff there said not only do people come for Presidents day but also the Daytona races had finished that week so people had come over from there. Spring Break is usually mid March through April and then of course theres UK Easter hols to avoid. Personally I would never go in Feb again the weather was really dodgy as well and some days it was really really cold. My advice go in May!
