Just a warning. I bought some Egyptian Pounds at Thompsons as they had arranged the holiday and we were in there picking up the tickets. I really do not quibble at the exchange rate, just cannot be bothered shopping around, after all it`s holiday time so just paid what they asked.

It was only later, when looking at the print-out that I realised that I had been charged 3.50 for a buy-back service. They undertake to pay the same rate for the unused foreign currency that you take back!. But who has anything substantial left after a holiday. I certainly don`t. And of course, what happens if the rate shifts in my favour?

Needless to same I warned the rest of family to say they didn`t need the service.

I`ve seen elsewhere that Thompsons were asking 30. for a trip in Sharm whereas going direct was only 4. - some difference!. Anyway thanks for the reminder, I don`t mind spending money on holiday but hate being ripped off.
