I have ENA-I-

The clue lesads to ENATIC but I cannot find enatic meaning "growing outwards".

ENATE means growing out, but ENATIC is not in Chambers and the only definition I can find for it is

I have ENATIC and also couldn't track it down

I have solved all the clues (which I found tugher than usual)but am finding the last phase very very challenging

Does anyone have definitive answers / synonyms to 4A, 18D or 15A?

4a (white) goes with 17d

15a (mar) goes with 20d

1a goes with 18d (dock)

Does anyone understand the puzzles title?

Apparently the title is another fish - in the same way as the other four.

But I have not bothered to find it as it is not a requirement for completion of the puzzle.
