land rover series 3

on my series 3 there is some hinges near the wing mirrors, level with the windscreen wipers(just under the windscreen)and i was wondering what they were.

I had a Land Rover years ago, and I think you might mean the widscreen hinges. If you have a soft-top as I did, you can take the canvas off and swing the windscreen froward onto the bonnet. The tops of the doors come off too to make the whole car look like it has been sliced in half. They're loads of fun, but guzzle the juice!
