dish washer

mum has had her dish washer for 4 months (neve had one before) all of a sudden the glasses have started to come out cloudy & the cutlery rusty-
cant find the manual- any idea's?

she has probably run out of salt and/or rinse aid. There's usually somewhere to stick both, or use those 3 in 1 tabs that include them in. The rust sounds a bit worrying tho!

I'm sure she knows not to put delicates in like bone handled knives. My gran has disfigured all her cutlery that way!

Its the combination of aggressive dishwasher powder and temperature you are running it at.
Try reducing one or both.
You won't get the glasses unclouded now I'm afraid. Rust may come off with polish.

don't put glasses in the dishwasher, they'll always go cloudy, it's too abrasive. unless you put the cheapo ones in and replace them when you can't stand them any longer.
