Page cannot be displayed!

about one week after getting broadband my laptop running windows xp developed a fault in internet explorer. when clicking on a link I get page cannot be displayed but the progress bar has worked. nothing happens. I can still access google and wanadoo. sometimes. And sometimes their links work its not consistent .Everything is working firn on my Mac which is how i can read this site

It may be that you have a virus. Have you scanned for virus's recently?
