Didn't really know which section to put this, but no doubt AB Ed will stick it where it belongs! My wife bought me the Live Aid DVD set for Xmas. If you haven't seen it, get it. It's superb. The only thing is, I first played it on my father in law's DVD player, and noticed every time the camera does a close up shot of whoever is on stage the picture was very 'lined'. I put this down to his dodgy DVD player, but when I got home and played on my system, I got the same effect. Has anyone else noticed this with this DVD or are both our DVD players on the blink?

Same with me... it aint nowt to do with the player it probably was shot that way.. the bbc had major technical problems that day i seem to remember, including some problems with sound and vision.
I have it too.  It isn't your DVD player - originally Bob Geldof never intended it to be recorded and was only ever wanting it to be a one-off broadcast.  Hence, the footage that we have now got have been reassembled from Mtv archives that were not of the best quality.  It does mention something in the brochure thing thats in the box set.
