i bought a car yesterday in herts the vehicle is on a S O R N i have got it insured to drive it also it has a new mot can i drive the car home to london or do i have to get it actually taxed bofore then. can i not drive it home and then get the tax.

You cannot drive an untaxed vehicle on the main road, period

So, no you can't 'just drive it home' and then tax it - if you do I hope you get caught

as above,but if you want to chance your arm then you can drive it,but also beware that a car on a sorn is off road and if caught you could be liable for all the tax that it has been on sorn and a fine.

SORN is exactly that , declared off road..there are instances in the motor trade of cars being driven on trade plates that have SORN and have been prosecuted...

its been a busy time raan ... driving a car uninsured , casught for taxi touting ,,,,, then later on AB , a comment was made , about visting Gay bars , parking your car , in disabled bay .... and then taxi touting offence ,..
