Sky Remote Control

My remote fails to change any of the Sky channels - though manually pressing the buttons on the Sky box works fine.

The red light on the remote goes on when a button is pressed and thee batteries have been replaced with new but to no avail.

Can anyone make a suggestion?

Maybe not much use, but we have 3 buttons on the top of the sky remote. Far right on/off, middle Sky, left tv. When we accidently press the "tv" button it de-activates the sky function. Try pressing the sky button &/or tv to see if this helps if you haven't already.

A few weeks ago ours failed to operate the TV channels - we had to reprogramme it - you may have to do the same.  Have a look in the instructions.

silly question but is it currently on 'tv' setting ?

First and foremost you should ring sky and ask whether they have your television configured to their satelite system. They will give you a list of things you could try including checking the scart leads into your television.If I was you I would speak to the experts at sky.

I had the same trouble and was told by sky that if your remote is without batteries for more than ten minutes the memory in the handset islost and you have to reprograme it again.Hope this helps
