...because without her, we would not have "state" at all, the cold war would still be going on, the wall would be up and we'd be soviet outpost waiting in line for a loaf. discuss!

fagidill, if that's true, then why did they put up with her for so long? More to the point, what did she do to warrant a state funeral?

tastymorsel, you may have forgotten, but in the end she didn't listen to anyone.

I couldn't agree more. This Government has been disastrous for this country.

I see your point, but talking of the cost of living going up, interest rates did reach 17%, many people's houses were repossessed, manufacturing declined, unemployment soared, and she divided the country. Did she really do anything to warrant a state funeral?
It must have been a really, really slow day for news yesterday.
naomi24 Although i was a supporter of Mrs T, i do not think she or any one else should have a state funeral, why?
because of the cost , when there are many families who work hard and cann't afford a holiday.
you can bet your bottom dollar that this country will be doing more when mandela kicks it, someone who has done absolutely nothing for this country, theyll be wanting a national mandela day or some garbage like that.
