e mails junk from people i do not know

only had my computer for 2 weeks,and i am receiving e mails from unknown people/persons,that i do not know.
my spam filter is on but that is not helping.
i receive all e mails through yahoo.
can any one help please.

It doesn't matter whether you have a new PC when you have an old email. Sometimes even new emails gets spammed right away. There are programs that spammed emails by chance...like getting all the combination and then send there spams.
Say your email is [email protected] then most prolly you can easily be spammed along with jason01, jason02 and so on.
