bt home hub
2 Answers
Hi all,
I know you lot know the answer to this.
can I use the bt home hub on another service provider?
I bought a home hub and phone from ebay, because I had decided to go over to bt, they were offering a very good deal. As usual with changing isp and phone service, things did not go to plan. I got my my migration number from pipex and gave it to BT. unfortunately their girl who was dealing with my order at BT did not process my order and my migration number ran out.
anyway, I phoned BT and spoke to all 300,000 members of their staff, and then found out that I could not take my
" call sign " number to BT, as it had been issued by pipex. ( call sign, is another telephone number on the one line that has a different ring, so you know its your kids, or a business call) I used mine for business, and had 2000 leaflets delivered with that number on, so I need to keep it.
so, it looks like I must stay with pipex.
back to the main question:
will the bt hub phone and hub work on pipex? .
, I know this isp bit will open up some wounds,I work on telephone installations and so many people try to change internet providers and lose their service and have to speak to people on all corners of the globe to get it right, when at the end of the day, the faults lies on their doorstep at their local telephone exchange.
cheers.
