clothes manufacturers

hi all, just having a moan and voicing my opinion but why is it that certain clothing companies to nat cater for the larger size person. i recently had my shed broken into and had all of my motorbike gear stolen, leathers etc. my contents insurance has paid out for new gear but i was struggling to get new gear to fit. i went to a well known bike dealer but they told me that the various manufacturers only supply racing style leathers available of the peg and in their catalogue up to around a 48inch chest. they suggested that i buy the retro style leathers which do cater for my size but has i ride a suzuki gixer they dont match the style of the bike. i had to search online and i found a company that makes to order, they were more expensive than the off the prg brand but at least i got my the goods that i wanted, this is also the case with most designer labels aswell. it just me or does it seem that certain companies do not want to have larger people wearing their goods. what do you think?

cant help with why they dont do larger sizes, perhaps its an image thing.
