When Tommy, Angie and family came into Corrie they were under witness protection which means that their names had been changed to protect their identity. I am sure that they were found out & came out of the witness protection scheme�if this is the case why do they call each other by their new names? I can understand it from the neighbours etc but surely if you've been married to someone for 20 odd years you wouldn't just call them by a different name, would you? I wasn't watching it all the time at this stage so am not sure if I'm just wrong about this! Please can someone clear this up???

I think (if i remember rightly) that it was only their Surname that was changed and they were all called Tommy etc originally.

The Guys who are after them obviously arent any major Bigtime criminals because they know where they live and STILL havent arranged for anyone to go round and Kneecap them.

I think that's the whole point of witness protection - you have to change your lives.  If that means changing what you call someone after 20 years or being found out and possibly killed, I'd just call them whatever they want me to!

natalie_1982 It was because they came out of the witness protection scheme that i asked, they were confronted by the baddies etc so were found out, & decided they wanted their lives back (I think!) so are no longer under protection.

I'm sure it would just make things a little more confusing to change all the neames etc!
