Hi guyd sng gsld me and my girlfriend are getting a new puppy soon. We both work shift work and it will be left up to 10 hours a day 6 days per week. Would it be a good idea getting someone to come round and check on it? We are so excited. P.S. It is a Bull Dog
Peeewee if ur on the level then my advice is no matter how excited u are at the thought and how much you might want that dog DON'T GET IT.
Dogs require lots of time and company. They are pack animals and it shows.
Locking it up in a crate is wrong but having one is not.
Dogs like tight spaces when they are alone.
Naturally they would find a cave or other natural closed in space to sleep and be happy so having a crate is great provided the dog can come and go as it pleases.
But you are going to be gone 10 hours a day for 6 days a week and no dog should be left alone for that long. Heavens mine has a fit when I go shopping.
If you do not have the time to give to it then please do not have a dog. Wait until you and your partner have the time to give. As hard as that is it will be so much better for the dog and you. A dog is a complex animal and needs to be given as much as you can give it. You will get so much more out of the relationship if you do.
So as said please do this dog a favour and don't get it. When you are ready to give your time then get a dog from the shelters and not a breeder.
4get I have no idea if it is or not but I wouldn't be rude as some on here have been. I'm just saying what I think without being nasty.
As you said to those who think it is a windup then ignore it. Why be so rude about it. I you can't say something constructive then don't say anything at all.
Cruelty to children or animals are emotive subjects and it is really difficult to ignore such posts. Therefore, I can understand why some people have replied in the manner that they have.
What I can't understand is the mentality of people who post such wind ups (and it so obviously is a windup).
