On Monday i'm going to Africa on a mission, getting a plane from manchester to London, then London to Zambia, and i know i have to have any liquids 100ml in my hand luggage in a clear bag, ive got that, but my Mum wondered can I still take stuff like shampoo which is 200ml in my luggage, or do i have to declare that i have that liquid or anything?
I'd really appreciate the help :)

In handbaggage you can take no more than 10 items of liquid or gel of 100ml or less, in the clear plastic bag.
You can take whatever size and number of toiletries you like in your handbaggage, but bear in mind 2 things:
1) make sure they are packed in a secure waterproof bag so if one leaks or splits your clothes and other contents dont get covered. (you'd be surprised how many people dont do it and get ikky messes!).
2)Liquids are heavy and use up your baggage allowance like noones business. So try not to take too much- you can always buy stuff llike suncream and shampoo at Boots airside, and then stow it in your handbaggage. Or try not to take full new bottles, and just leave the small amounts of stuff behind before you travel home.
Bon Voyage!

I travel quite a lot and always put sellotape around all tubes and bottles at the join where they are likely to leak, then wrap in plastic and put in my main suitcase, because you dont need them on your journey, and have never had a spill, also take sellotape with me for the return journey, except in the US where I can buy cheaper on arrival at any Walgreens or Walmarts. yes you can take in your luggage more than 100ml, but not in hand luggage.
Good luck with BA to me they are one of the worst airlines ever and did you know that on arrival in Zambia you have to pay something like a wopping $ 150 on entry and departure, but if you are going on a mission, they will pay it for you.Have a safe journey and if you meet an english guy called Harry pls give him my love, he is my son and I miss him.
