I'm afraid it was suicide, though there was a book written by the one original investigator on the case who believed in a murder conspiracy. The title is "Who Killed Kurt Cobain? The Mysterious Death of an Icon". It is by Ian Halperin and Max Wallace, and can be bought on Amazon.com. The ISBN is 0806520744.
On another note, I saw Kurt in person on October 29, 1993 in Detroit, Michigan and stood 8 feet away from him for two hours! I never got to speak with him, but it was still great, and a most precious memory.
Cobain mentioned Neil Young in his suicide note [Edited for legal reasons - AB Editor].
On a similar note, KEJ2000, a friend of mine ran a minor university music magazine in which he interviewed 'some unknown' American band who were in the UK touring at the time. Lead singer was called Kurt something-or-other. Although he taped the interview, it was never used in his mag, as "all he (the singer) could talk about was shotguns and suicide"
If Courtney Love did it, I'm sure she regrets it now, because her life went completely downhill starting the day he died. In other words, I'm sure she didn't do it!!! What would be the motive? Besides, she loves their daughter Frances Bean, who looks EXACTLY like Kurt (down to the dimple in the chin), so why would Courtney separate her beloved daughter from her lookalike father? Makes no sense.
That's an amazing story brachiopod!! Was that during the summer of 1993? Nirvana were in Europe then, I recall. I think we all took Kurt for granted too much; when I saw him I thought I'd have many chances to see him again.
