Diesel v Petrol
3 Answers
I'm thinking of trading in my car and the salesman suggested a renault megane hatch dci80 - my existing car is a megane coupe 1.4 (which they don't make any more) - do you think this is the a good comparison - I average about 12000 miles a year most journeys are 35 miles+ one way?? I've no idea really of the what the "80" means compared to a 1.4,1.6 etc engine - can anyone help?

Okies Diesel is dearer now than Petrol but MPG it's so much more economical. And the upkeep is much easier too.
Mine is a 1.8 Turbo which I understand is on par to a 1.6 Petrol on BHP....But who cares!! I get 80 easily ona motorway with loads left under foot if I need/want it.
Only problem is the MOT is harder with emissions. The engine has to be revved so hard there's a slight chance it can be knackered and you have to give consent to the test or the MOT cannot continue....but thats so unlikely
