If Only I Could Find The Title Of This Instrumental....

This was an instrumental hit in Europe and a minor one in the UK in, (I think), 1971 - 1973 (Yes, I know, hardly a small time frame). I'm pretty certain it wasn't English - not 'The Clog Dance' or anything more obvious, but it was led by a simply fantastic violin that seemed to slur its way through a haunting melody. I now have every piece of music I've ever wanted...except for this track and have been so frustrated in not finding it. Please, somebody, make my life complete and try and help me with a title. If it's any help, I was on a French exchange when it was released and so it would be, I think, a late spring/early summer composition. All suggestions most gratefully received. Jon

No, unfortunately I have been unable to locate the single. The Jean-Luc Ponty suggestion is still ongoing and I have been trawling Youtube to see if somebody has posted it there. I remain in hope!

Nooo, unfortunately it wasn't anything suggested so far. Simon Park Orchestra - de de de dah, dah, de dah, de de de dah, dah,dah. remains in my head, but this was not the one. It was far more less-stream than that. But...if you heard the one I'm looking for...you'd really like it, I'm sure.

I could be way off the mark here, but Eye Level, the theme tune to Valdervalk was in the top of the charts circa 72/73, however doesn't fit your description of tune.
