Fizzy drinks are made at room temperature, so when you put them in the fridge and they get cooler, some of the gas that was dissolved will escape when you open it(CO2 in this case). As the fizz is caused by the gas, I'd guess that it will go flat more quickly, but then again noone wants to drink warm cola do they.
Sorry Donaldson, but gaseous solubility is inversely proportional to temperature !
That means gases are more soluble in cooler liquids, so that in the 'fizzy drink' scenario, more CO2 is dissolved in, say 440ml of cola at 4C than in the same amount at 40C.
As to "no-one wants to drink warm cola" - my missus does !!! She hates ice. She hates it in the 'fridge. Yuurghh - mind you, I don't know what's worse, the 'cola' (warm or otherwise), or the 'white rum' she drinks with it !
*shudder*
