Further to my earlier question, I hurt my leg 6 weeks ago and doc told me to take painkillers and anti inflammitory pills. I have also had 2 sessions with chiro and go again next week. Its 45 per session so cannot have too many. Should I be feeling better by now? Its still painful during the day but is usually better when i rest it. Standing can be agony and it is also sore when i walk. I need to take exercise and wonder if I need to see doc again? Do i need an Xray to check it out? All advice gratefully received.

In my experience, chiropractors often send patients for an xray before starting treatment.
If I were you i would book an appointment with a physiotherapist.
Just noticed you mentioned sciatica- that usually stems from a back problem. Did you hurt your back? x

Not sure but the pain started the day after we had pulled heavy luggage around France. The pain starts in my hip and goes downwards towards ankle.
In that case i would definitely go back to the GP and ask to be sent for an x-ray x
p.s.- an xray of your back, not your leg! x

Thanks Bathsheba
You may need an MRI and I think some Physio! An xray will only really show bone and an MRI will show everything else thats going on.
My prolapsed disc showed up fairly clearly on an xray.
like Bathsheba, my sciatica was caused by a prolapsed disk in my lower back. I had injections at the pain clinic into my disc area, these helped it for a while but the pain recurred. The one thing that cured me for the past six years and I'm still ok was accupuncture. I had a course of three sessions and the problem went away completely. Good luck lyn.
