Independent hotel review guide
I am looking at hotel websites for planning our trip to Oz in October. There is an independent hotel review guide but I can't track it down. Any info greatly appreciated

http://www.expedia.co.uk is pretty decent.
Thank you jno and squarebear.
I've actuaaly got trip adviser to do with a visit to a lovely small hotel in Iceland nexy year but hadn't thought about looking at them for this trip.
I will look at Expedia as well thanks, I have already booked the stoppover in Syngapore with Opodo.
I have looked at the website for Port Douglas and seen a hotel that looks ok. What I was really wanting was a web site that gives a warts and all review eg overlooked by a building site, rooms grottyetc.
I'm pretty sure there was something like that for Europe, hoping there was similar for Oz
Again many thanks.

No idea of a site to help, but if you are looking at Port Douglas / Cairns area then might I recommend the Sebel Reef House Hotel & Spa in Palm Cove. Great rooms, fabulous surroundings, superb restuarant - a real treat.

And be sure to go out on the Barrier Reef on the Quicksilver Wavepiercer from Port Douglas marina;

An experience not to be missed!! done it twice now and it was BRILLIANT each time.

Forgot to mention, the room in the 1st of the photos (via the link below) at the Sebel Reef House is the actual one we had on our last visit!

Just been reminded about this site - but there isn't much listed for Australia.

I'm forutnate to have family over there and get to go every 3 or 4 years, so have (luckily) been to most places in Oz over the last 20 years or so. If there is somewhere you want an opinion of (albeit my own!) then feel free to ask.
