I think your username sums you up completely .
I'm not patronising ..you are .
You are demeaning someone for their achievements just because your precious flag is arse about face .
"Serious breach of practice " Ha ha. ha ...How petty can you get .
You are laughable .
As for childish insults ...it takes one to recognise one .
You seem to be one of those who can dish it out but can't take it . If nobody agrees with the Holy Mail woe betide them .
From what I can see you hate it if anyone disagrees with you and cannot take criticism in any shape or form .
If I were Rebecca I'd chuck you in the deep end and see how you got on .
anotheoldgit ? Miserableoldgit more like .
flying the flag upside down is a sign of distress. She is not flying it, she is carrying it. The distress denoted is that of the flyer of the flag.People feeling distressed while sitting in the comfort of their homes will have to fly their own flags.
surely everyone has missed the point here about the flag being upside down. The union flag on its own cannot be held upside down because there is no pole attached, IE it could be either side. The flag can only be judged as being upside down or the correct way when it is attached to a pole. The broad white stripe has to be at the top nearest to the flag pole, simple.
New Judge makes an excellent point. And it doesn't just apply to sportsmen and women. But also to artists and musicians.
Sport, art and culture are trivial little annoyances and have no place or meaning in modern society.
These people should get a proper job - maybe as an acountant or a bus driver - then work until retirement age, enjoy their pensions as best they can and then quietly die.
