Garage Sales.

Due to this foul government messing up the economy I have noticed a plethora of garage sales (or the rather Americano "Yard Sales" on the streets on Scotchland and England.

Most of the stuff is sub-ebay, boot-sale tat which I would never admit to owning let alone showing off in public.

1) Have you noticed this increase?

2) Would you have one?

3) Should I report the addresses to the tax man and/or council for not having a trading licence?

4) Is Britain really in the sh!t with the credit crunch?

Haven't seen one at all round here.

They are common in Spain though, where I have seen a lot.

You don't need a licence to sell your own personal posessions, do you? I love car boot sales! I might try to sell some stuff myself. Saves on the hassle of packing and sending with ebay.

I imagine that trading from your home will require some sort of traders licence or something.

Car Boot sales are a different kettle of fish. Yes you find a lot of tat and scum frequenting such places, and the times I have been to one in Sussex, the average joe was indeed a pikey, but on the whole I quite enjoy them. Used to get vinyl LP's for about 20p each!!!!

But garage sales are pure peasantry and rather indignant.

However, I miss the Sussex fruit and veg tables with a good old fashioned honesty box.

But I bet they are being stolen nowadays.
