next year my wife and i are to visit family in oz with a weeks break in nz. total time 6 weeks. i will be 71 and wife 69 and we dont have issues with our health. i have obtained some quotes from the net and considering both oz and nz provide medical cover the level of quotes average some 350. anyone got any advice etc . many thanks in anticipation.
We were in a similar position for NZ recently and, like last year we found Age Concern to be very good, especially if there are pre-existing medical problems.
However, my sister has just taken out her travel insurance via the Halifax and it was extremely good value for money.
You could always give them a go, it is cheaper, of course, online.
you are not correct in stating that both oz and NZ provide medical cover - although emergency hospital treatment is covered, seeing a gp, outpatient appointments and medicines are not
TBH 350 seems quite reasonable to me as this includes cancellation cover, medical cover, repatriation etc
