Hi. I have a printer which has colour cartridges and a black cartridge. I have recently changed the black cartridge and at first it printed the black colour ok now it only prints the colour cartridge. I made a check of the cartridge by printing the colours on a piece of paper, and the colours came out but no black. When I go to print from the black cartridge the image shows that there is still black ink in the cartridge. Has any one out there got any suggestions as to what the problem is? Thanks in anticipation

Your settings may be set just to use colour! Go to file--print--properties (or preferences) and see what your default settings are. Change it to "greyscale" to just use your black cartridge. If you want to alter your settings permanently, rather than each time you print something, you will need to go to Start- control panel-- printers-- then right click on the printer and alter the properties from there.

Do let me know if this works or not!!

Thanks for your advice but this did not work.
Did you take all the wrapping off as their is a vent somewhere to stop it from leaking.
Try another ink well before changing the settings or go to preferences then maintenaces deep cleaning and finally nozzle check.
