He said he felt like he "was cutting someone else's grass" - in a reference to the way my body seemed to belong to someone else (ie junior). I didn't really mind too much and we just indulged in loads of hugs and kisses and general intimacy, without any sex for most of the pregnancy. I felt this was important adn I'm glad we maintained that clloseness. You can 'get your own back' as it were, after the birth. After keylans forceps delivery and more stitches than I could believe, it was about 6 or 7 months before I fancied full intercourse again. Our love life is now better than it was pre-baby...tho of course the chances to have sex are fewer than the were before our wee bundle arrived!
Most pregnancy books deal with this issue - it seems pretty common. Can I recommend The Best Friends Guide to Pregnancy by Vicki Lovine. It's such a good book, so many laughs - hubbty and I both read it. I found it much better than the Miriam Stoppard books and the likes...they were too formal, starchy and clinical. This book is real, honest and hilarious.
