Thanks to those who have responded . Can anybody explain why it is that when a Quizmail question is asked , there never appears to be a straight answer . It seems that Cornelius is the answer to the question and yet folk seem to shy away from saying so . Any thoughts ?

......Because Quizmail is a HARD quiz and we all want to win BIG money so we don't offer actual answers on a plate for every Tom Dick and Harry to cash in on. If we leave it to the last day hopefully every team will have tried really hard to find the answers between themselves. That's the fun and satisfaction of it for us.
Dare I use the cheat word? No better not.

The most satisfying help, at least for this Quizmailer, is the giving of CLUES as opposed to the answer. Giving the answer tends to detract from the satisfaction of researching the answers, whereas a CLUE gives additional avenues to explore and if one achieves the ultimate( which always eludes me!! - It's those "tank" questions) it is indeed an achievement.

I did get full marks last month and for all that slogging without help from AB (although I did give some clues to others, who weren't at all thankful) my reward was �14, my entry fee refunded. It's not really good enough. Too many teams win nowadays.
