I have just got my renewal quote for my 3yr old cat's pet insurance (have made no claims) and it has gone up from 8.09 to 10.09 a month which I think is a bit steep. I have looked around and am aware that the biggest catch is the fact that some companies only pay a certain amount per illness or a certain amount per year. My current insurer pay 5000 per YEAR and the excess is 15% of this (minimum 50). I have just gone on the Sainsburys website and they have quoted me 6.70 a month with me being able to claim 6500 per CONDITION - surely this is better as my cat may have more than one condition per year. They also say the excess is 50 for claims under 1000 and 75 if over 1000. I am thinking this is a much better deal? Has anyone else looked into this and should I go with the Sainsburys deal?! Thanks
We have two 7 year old cats.We are with Tescos and are paying 13 a month with an excess of 40.I am not complaining though because recently one of our cats had a nasty abcess which caused a huge infection and would have costed us over 400 had we not been insured. The Sainsburys deal does sound very good though.
When I got my cat I found it complicated to work out which policy was actually best. They all have different bits to them - as you say some pay per condition and in the end I just gave up and got Pet Protect.
In the 5 years that he was with me I claimed once, for less than 50. He was an indoor cat. But you just never know what is going to happen.
you'd be amazed at the variations in the quotes you will get.

It will show you how to get the right (& cheapest) quote.
I recently followed this site's advice for my Car Insurance and reduced my premiun from 196 down to 113.
Its shocking the way we are being ripped off!!
Sanisbuys are brill and very good at paying out aswell both my cat and dog are with them it's only 20 per month for them and I think thats very good considering what they will pay out for I really think you should go with them
