Hey guys, wrong section I know!

Having just sorted out our first joint bank account, I'm trying to organise me & my partner and get contents insurance, which I recently found out he has never had in the 5 years he has lived in this house - doh!

Is contents insurance the same as home insurance? The house we are in is rented, and as far as I know some knd of insurance is done my the landlord?

Just on Money super market and I'm confused!! (Doesnt take much!)

Ta!

no it is different
why not check with your local council ?
some have a cheap contents policy available
if not all major insurance companies offer the service
your bank will help you
home insurance can be Buildings, contents or both. The landlord will have buildings insurance as it his property whereas the contents will be down to you. Most insurers do a contents only policy. Not sure about the Council, ours does it but only for council tenants.
the landlord will have the building insured in case your B/F burns it down or something crazy like that

he/you need to insure the contents of the building ie the telly, the dvd,the dvd porno movies collection, his stereo ect, ect, ect
