Not sure if  hijack is the right word,but When I use Internet Explorer,my homepage defaults to the following page: about:blank.I go to my internet settings and remove it as my home page and reset a different site as my homepage,but this only works a couple of times before it goes back to the 'about:blank' page.Even when I go to other websites if I click a link on that site, I get taken straight back to the 'about:blank' page.In the end I downloaded Firefox,which works fine, but I would still like to get IE back.Does anyone know how I can get rid of this annoying site.

I've had this same Trojan, and it will keep coming back as it sets an entry in your Registry and Startup file. I found the only way around it was to switch to Firefox Mozilla and now I no longer have the problem!

Can't imagine why you yearn for IE after using Firefox?

CW Shredder, Adaware etc can usually remove this sort of thing. I too recommend using firefox though.

This seems to be the best solution (see link) as it says  that CW Shredder etc is ineffective against this particular Trojan:

You have spyware.  Download a removal tool, update it and then do a scan of your machine and remove anything found...  Problem solved.
Get Spysweeper free from Webroot. It'll get rid of the hijacker and guard against others if you leave it on in the background whilst you're browsing the net!
Have you tried running a virus scan? I had the same problem, I ran McAfee VirusScan 9 & found a trojan. I'm running Win ME. I had to disable system restore to get rid of it.
I then went and got some SpyWare removal tools;
Ad-Aware SE :

Spybot Search & Destroy :

XoftSpy:

I do not have any problems anymore =o)
